Travel to Venice by air

Venice-Airport_Marco-PoloThere are two airports close to Venice: the Marco Polo Airport, which is the Venetian airport, closest to Venice, and the Treviso airport less than 45 minutes by car to the north of Venice.

The Marco Polo airport:

The Marco Polo Airport is located slightly north of Venice on the shore. It is connected to 118 international destinations. There is a bus shuttle service provided by ATVO from the Marco Polo Airport to the Piazzale Roma square, which is only across the bridge of the Santa Lucia railway station in Venice. ATVO provides a regular non-stop service, which takes only 20 minutes. Click here for the regular shuttle service.

From the Marco Polo Airport you can take the orange ferry line to San Marco, the Linea Arancio, from the ferry company Alilaguna. It takes seven stations to San Marco, however, already the first station is on Venice, on the north at Madonna dell’ Orto, after which it runs through the Canale Grande, see below.

The Treviso airport:

The other airport which is closeby to Venice is the Treviso airport. Treviso is linked to 46 international destinations. The regular shuttle service takes slightly longer than from the Venice Marco Polo airport and lasts one hour and ten minutes, with a stop in Venice Mestre. Click here for the schedule of the shuttle service from the Treviso airport.
